What are the responsibilities and job description for the Peer Engagement Specialist position at Wings Recovery?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversees Wings Support and Recovery facility.
- Greets and engages with clients, staff, stakeholders and any guests in the facility.
- Consistently engage with clients in drop in center through standard socialization, playing games as appropriate, watching tv, arts/crafts or other engagement as able.
- Keep accurate count of facility attendance on a daily basis.
- Create & maintain monthly schedule of.
- Help devise, implement and conduct social/recreational activities for clients on at least a monthly basis.
- Assist clients with scheduling appointments for other Wings staff as needed.
- Answer company phone, provide accurate information as requested & route calls & information accordingly.
- Clean office on daily basis including but not limited to: removal of all trash when full or 2x/week as needed, clean and sanitize all surfaces immediately after use & daily at a minimum if not used, cleaning floors, all surfaces, entire office space including any staff and client bathrooms.
- Completes required steps needed to open facility for business on time and close at end of day including checking all entrances/exits are locked & turning off office lights as appropriate.
- Provide clerical and logistical support to staff as requested and needed. Maintain confidentiality and follows appropriate guidelines to maintain client protected health information as governed by state and federal mandates.
- Willing to become a Certified Peer Recovery Supporter
- Other duties as required or required.
Position days and hours, Sunday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Also 4:30 pm to 8 pm Monday through Wednesday.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Previous office experience beneficial. Familiarity with Windows Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Excel) necessary. Customer service experience expected. Professional office conduct required. Ability to multi-task a necessity. Time management skills needed. Must be able to communicate effectively both internally and externally and display patience, compassion and respect.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience and/or familiarity with peer support preferred.
