What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Asst - Canteen position at Winnebago Mental Health Institute?
Winnebago Mental Health Institute(WMHI) is a psychiatric hospital providing quality mental health services to children, adolescents and adults and is looking for a Limited Term Employee (LTE) to work up to 20 hours a week as a Food Service Assistant (FSA1), primarily in the Canteen area.
The FSA1 (Canteen) sells merchandise to patients and staff, assists with preparation and serving of food, receives merchandise, stocks shelves, assists in maintaining inventory, fills soda vending machines, fills and delivers canteen orders to various units, and assists in the daily cleaning and maintenance of the Canteen. This position offers flexibility in work hours.
Qualifications: This position requires the following:
- Ability to work scheduled hours as agreed upon, which may include weekends, holidays, early morning or early evenings,
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Training and/or experience using a computer to enter data.
In addition, well-qualified candidates will have:
- Knowledge of basic sanitation, hand washing and safety standards in a food service environment.
- Customer service experience.
- Previous food service or production experience.
- ServSafe (or equivalent food service certification).
- Experience working cooperatively as part of a team.
Job Details:
All applicants will be required to allow the DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB screen and other pre-employment health assessments prior to their start date.
This position has physical requirements which may include but are not limited to lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, and pushing/pulling. Applicants may be required to pass a physical evaluation to assess these requirements.
