What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Care Technician Advanced - LTE position at Winnebago Mental Health Institute?
Winnebago Mental Health Institute(WMHI) is a psychiatric hospital providing quality mental health services to children, adolescents and adults and is looking for currently licensed CNA's to work as Limited Term Employees (LTE's) which requires them to work every other weekend along with three additional shifts during each two week pay period.
Position Summary:
As a PCT-A you will be responsible for the following duties:
· Implementing Individualized Treatment Plans.
· Monitoring and observing patient conditions.
· Maintaining patient records.
· Maintaining the safety of the personnel and patients.
· Assisting with maintaining a clean and safe environment.
· Participating as a team member in patient treatment planning.
· Assisting with orientating new patients and staff.
· Utilizing Crisis Prevention and Management (CPM) techniques when verbal or physical intervention is required to protect patient from injury to self, others, or the destruction of property.
Qualifications: This position requires the following:
- Active Wisconsin CNA certification
- Ability to commit to 3 weeks of initial specialized training @ 40 hrs a week (Mon-Fri) during daytime hours
- Ability to work PM or Night shifts which will include weekends and may include some holidays
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
Job Details:
Individuals must be able to lift 50 pounds several times a day. In addition, individuals need to have the ability to perform complex motor skills and use specialized equipment. Prior to beginning employment, candidates must pass a pre-employment health assessment and pre-employment physical ability and agility screening which could include tasks such as running, lifting, and kneeling.
Candidates under hiring consideration will be required to allow the DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB screen and other pre-employment health assessments prior to their start date.
