What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cosmetology Teacher at The WiCC (Winnisquam Career Center) position at Winnisquam Regional High School?
The newly renovated and expanded Winnisquam Career Center (WiCC) is looking for a full-time high school Cosmetology Teacher to lead its new program starting in the 2025/26 school year. The ideal candidate will be a licensed cosmetologist in New Hampshire and either hold or be on track to obtain a Cosmetology Instructor license.
Many industry professionals have successfully transitioned into Career and Technical Education (CTE) teaching, bringing their passion for their craft and career pathway into the classroom. A current NH teaching credential from the NH Department of Education is not required to apply. The State of NH offers a Site-Based Licensing Plan (SBLP) to assist industry professionals in transitioning into CTE teaching roles. You can begin teaching this fall by completing a few straightforward steps. In this role, a NH cosmetology instructor license (from the Board of Cosmetology, Barbering, and Esthetics) is required, but we’re open to you earning it over the summer and are happy to discuss how that can be accomplished.
To learn more about the Cosmetology Program, visit WiCC-Ed.org or reach out to us at cte@wicc-ed.org to discuss your interest and the opportunities we offer. We would be happy to arrange a meeting at your convenience to talk about this exciting opportunity. You do not need to apply to start the conversation—just email us, and we will get in touch with you!
Join us in making a difference in students' lives and helping to shape their futures. In return, we offer a 190 day contract with summers, school vacations and holidays off, sick and personal days, comprehensive health coverage, employer-funded HRA, dental and vision plans, NH Retirement, long-term disability and employee assistance programs.
The Winnisquam School District considers the number of years of relevant industry experience when determining the "years of experience" level (vertical axis on the salary grid) to establish the starting salary for new career and technical education teachers.
Salary : $51,830 - $69,363
