What are the responsibilities and job description for the WRHS Athletic Trainer position at Winnisquam Regional High School?
The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of athletic injuries and illnesses for student-athletes. This role requires a strong background in sports medicine, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with coaches, parents, and medical professionals. The Athletic Trainer will play a key role in ensuring that our student-athletes are healthy, safe, and able to perform at their best.
Key Responsibilities:
- Injury Prevention and Assessment:
- Develop and implement injury prevention programs and practices.
- Assess and evaluate injuries and illnesses to determine appropriate treatment and care.
- Provide immediate first aid and emergency care as needed during practices and games.
Treatment and Rehabilitation:
- Design and oversee rehabilitation programs for injured athletes.
- Administer therapeutic treatments and modalities.
- Monitor and document progress and recovery of injured athletes.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with coaches, athletic directors, and medical professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding injuries and return to play plans.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of injuries, treatments, and recovery.
- Utilize Final Forms to ensure all students have updated medical records.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain inventory of athletic training supplies and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to athletic injuries and treatments.
