Position Overview:
The Associate Vice President of Ancillary Clinical Services provides leadership, direction and organizational management for development of caregivers, providers and processes through the principles and philosophies of Lean management. The role requires highly effective change leadership skills; advanced understanding of strategic planning for areas of responsibility; coaching, mentoring, and facilitation skills; exceptional organizational and interpersonal communication skills; and, experience with facilitating change, training and project implementation. The incumbent will be highly interdependent, able to lead effectively in a constantly changing and rapid-pace environment, and will be capable of leadership of and with people of high formal authority.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Operates and leads all business functions in an ethical manner, within the intent of compliance with federal, state and local laws;
- Develops and maintains fiscally responsible and fiscally informed financial forecast; responsible for revenue integrity and growth including implementing new services when applicable;
- Participates in leadership, board and committee meetings as requested;
- Responsible for the comprehensive strategic development and continual evaluation of ancillary clinical services; Inspire and continuously improve the models of care delivery while remaining patient-centric;
- Strategically leads teams in setting measurable and attainable goals, evaluating outcomes, reviewing and maintaining succession plans, and ensuring team members are supported in performing to their highest potential;
- Develops strategies to recruit, retain and educate the needed team members to assure needed services; focusing on patient safety, evidence based clinical care and satisfaction;
- Manages, directs and holds team accountable for the documentation and update of standard work, policies and procedures;
- Is the Primary Contact and lead for the 340B drug program;
- Competent in a participative leadership style that involves a variety of team members and leaders from across services; Daily interaction and support for both physician and associate providers within departments;
- Utilizes Lean management tools and activities to collect, analyze and use data to drive continuous improvement and results;
- Responsible for understanding key quality and regulatory metrics; ensuring compliance and staying abreast of changes and updates;
- Participates in the rotation of administrative on-call responsibilities;
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Leads the departments of Ancillary and Allied Health Clinical Services including the Inpatient Pharmacy, Winona Clinic Pharmacy, the Laboratory, Pathology, Infection Control, Imaging Services (all modalities), Rehabilitative Services and Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an allied health field required; Masters preferred;
- Five (5) or more years of healthcare leadership experience required;
- Requires strong personal computing knowledge and skills including basic database knowledge, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint), Teams, email communications, and the ability to quickly learn new systems and programs;
- Requires strong group facilitation skills, and the ability to effectively deliver large group messaging, training, and reports and must be highly adaptive and capable of changing coaching and leadership approach to meet the needs of diverse groups of stakeholders;
- Must be comfortable in leading, and leading through, rapid and substantial change, conflict management and ambiguity.
