WSU invites applications for our Campus Sustainability and Planning Director. The individual in this position will plan, coordinate, implement, and promote positive, campus-wide sustainable practices and development across all operations and physical plants including areas of facilities planning and construction, facilities operations, energy efficiency, renewable energy, alternative fuels, food systems, water, environmental and social sustainability, waste management, green buildings, and environmental management systems. The Campus Sustainability and Planning Director will be responsible for overseeing implementation of the University Sustainability Strategic Plan for WSU-Winona and WSU-Rochester campuses in support of WSU’s overall Strategic Plans. The position will be directly responsible for leading progress toward long-term institutional sustainability goals by: creating inspiring visions and master plans; managing planning and construction projects; optimizing facilities operations; collecting and analyzing data; developing implementation strategies; overseeing and assessing progress towards established metrics and standards; networking with relevant collaborators; and reporting to all constituent groups, including senior administrators and the system office. Minimum qualifications for this include a bachelor’s in Sustainability or related field and four (4) years of experience with university program development in operational or academic approaches to sustainability.
