What are the responsibilities and job description for the FY26 - WINOOSKI SCHOOL DISTRICT LITERACY INTERVENTIONIST position at Winooski School District?
THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED POSITION: Winooski Middle School is looking for a highly skilled and knowledgeable Literacy Interventionist to coordinate and facilitate the schools literacy intervention program. Excellent collaboration skills are a must to work with teachers individually and in groups to identify the literacy needs of students, set learning goals and targets, and problem-solve with teachers to develop best practices for the continuous academic growth of students in literacy. Willingness to grow skills in working with data collection, analysis of data results, sharing findings with all staff, and reviewing student achievement and placement of students in appropriate literacy intervention and support services is a must. Applicants must understand the research in adolescent literacy and comprehension.
They must have a working knowledge of the major models of reading: Scarboroughs Rope, the Simple View of Reading, and the Four Part Processing Model. Experience with teaching targeted literacy intervention to small groups of students using research-based strategies and supporting literacy instruction that correlates with the individual students needs or as requested by the classroom teacher is preferred.
