ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluates the health needs of students and the school environment through the prescribed nursing process of Assessment, Diagnosis, Outcome Identification, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation
Provides for the direct care needs of students, including medication administration, and routine treatments and procedures
Compiles and maintains appropriate statistical information including student health records, daily logs, immunizations records, and medication logs
Cultivates a relationship between the school and the community’s health network to coordinate care and makes referrals when necessary
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and professional expectations satisfactorily, in addition to the following:
Holds an earned baccalaureate degree from an accredited program in nursing
Holds a valid license as a professional Registered Nurse ( RN) in the state of Vermont
Holds a Vermont Agency of Education Level I or Level II license endorsed as a school nurse or is willing to obtain this within the first 2 years of employment
Holds a current certificate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
Holds a current certificate in First Aid
Previous 3-4 years of nursing experience especially with pediatrics
Excellent oral and written communication skills required
Solid math skills. Ability to interpret a wide range of data
Excellent problem-solving skills required
Qualifications that the board and administration find appropriate and acceptable
Salary : $47,999 - $95,998
