Winsert is seeking qualified candidates for a Maintenance Supervisor. This role will lead and coordinate maintenance operations, ensuring equipment and facility needs are met. The Maintenance Supervisor will manage maintenance team personnel to achieve company metrics / goals and champion a positive work environment / culture.
Essential Job Functions:
- Drive, coach, empower, & support maintenance team personnel to meet performance metrics / goals.
- Understand labor needs and maintain proper workforce necessary to meet production goals while minimizing cost, managing overtime, and ensuring Winsert. complies with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Coach, train, & influence employee behavior & development to meet performance expectations.
- Enforce Winsert policies and rules consistently. Address performance issues and deliver corrective action as needed.
- Accountable for meeting department kaizen goals by driving & supporting continuous improvement efforts.
- Communicate regularly with all shift employees to ensure they are informed of all pertinent issues regarding priorities, work schedules, quality issues, etc.
- Develop maintenance procedures and processes for equipment and facilities.
- Ensure buildings, grounds, and supporting systems are maintained to expected standards.
- Coordinate preventative and predictive maintenance activities and records to prepare for and minimize breakdowns and repairs.
- Establish and assist with the recommended critical spare parts for equipment to be kept in inventory.
- Work with contractors and vendors for project and equipment quotes, scheduling work as needed.
Secondary Job Functions:
- Coordinate installation of new equipment or existing equipment moves, as needed.
- Conduct performance reviews of all direct reports.
- Participate in hiring and onboarding of new employees.
- Attend functional department meetings and represent the maintenance department as needed.
- Purchase supplies for the maintenance department.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Understanding of OSHA & environmental laws/requirements
- Must have excellent time management skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Proven ability to make sound decisions.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements with minimal interruption of normal workflow.
- Ability to manage employee conflict and hold others accountable when deficiencies are identified.
- Ability to foster teamwork.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to actively move through production area to work with staff.
- Vision must be correctable to allow reading/viewing of documents and computer screen.
- Hearing must be correctable to allow extensive use of telephone and voicemail as well as participate in discussions among large groups.
- Mobility and coordination must allow for required tasks to be performed.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum high school diploma.
- Prior leadership experience is preferred.
- Formal leadership training may be provided.
- 5 years’ experience in manufacturing is preferred.
- Degree or certification in mechanical or electrical fields preferred.
