Reports to: Vice President of Operations

Overview

Winston Plywood and Veneer, LLC is an operating company of New Wood Resources LLC, an Atlas Holdings company. The mill is the newest, most technologically advanced plywood mill in North America, featuring state-of-the-art machine control centers, and integrated computer controls throughout the facility, as well as integrated log processing, peeling and drying operations. We are currently seeking an experienced Mill Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our mill located in Louisville, MS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive company results from both an operational and financial perspective, working closely with the CFO, CEO and other key executive team members
  • Ensure compliance of all safety guidelines in accordance with company, local, state and federal laws and regulations
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement
  • Develop and coach staff to deliver operational objectives to meet or exceed KPIs
  • Optimize workflow and production processes to maximize efficiency and minimize waste
  • Safeguard all company assets, including intellectual property, against theft and/or damage through effective employee training, testing and certification programs and strict enforcement of company security and plant visitation policies
  • Partners with senior leadership to support strategic planning and organizational alignment
  • Communicate operational goals and strategic initiatives to all levels of the operation as required
  • Partner with Human Resources to drive talent management, communication, training and development strategies to obtain employee engagement
  • Develop good employee relations, promptly handle and resolve employee complaints and grievances, proactively communicate with employees
  • Responsible for staffing efficiently and adequately all required activities to manage and maintain labor and resources that promote efficient, safe operations with a high level of productivity
  • Ensure all customer orders are shipped complete, on time, and accurately
  • Develop and deploy best practices throughout manufacturing facility utilizing a lean system/Six Sigma approach

Job Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, forestry/natural resources or management

· 8 years manufacturing management experience

· Prior wood products experience (plywood manufacturing a plus)

· Strong financial acumen

· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, root cause analysis and project management

Compensation

· We are targeting a salary range of $175,000 - $225,000 depending upon skill set and experience. This position is eligible to participate in the management incentive program with a potential 30% base pay depending on individual, mill, and company goals.
