Compensations: College Credit available – This position is non-paid.
Status: Part-time seasonal
Start Date: January 2025 (flexible with academic schedule)
End Date: August 2025 (flexible with academic schedule)
Hours Expected to Work: 10:00am 4:00pm (non-Gamedays) | 2:00pm – end of game (Gamedays)
Job Description:
The Community Relations intern will assist with building the Dash brand and building relationships within the Winston-Salem community. The ideal candidate is someone with an outgoing personality and with the initiative to spark conversations. This internship will focus on networking, community building, and brand awareness. There will be emphasis on the growth of the Dash community initiatives.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the coordination of all Community Relations events and outreach to help ensure the Dash have a significant presence at local events
- Develop new community outreach ideas
- Willing to assist in planning and successfully executing other stadium events, held on non-gamedays (including preseason and postseason)
- Assist in the development and execution of our youth program initiatives such as Play Ball weekend, Little League Night, and Challenger Day
- Manage and schedule all Mascot, and player appearances
- Assist in education, selling, and execution of the Kids Club
- Assist with the execution of our specialty Jersey Auctions
- Assist with all donation requests, and complete requests in a timely manner
- Perform as the mascot or a member of the Dash Pack when needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Ability to work flexible and demanding hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and ability to take initiative with projects and events
- Have exceptional customer service and be a committed team player
- Willingness to wear a mascot costume if necessary
Training:
All new hires in the Winston-Salem Promotions department will be thoroughly trained on all job duties and responsibilities required. You will receive training and skills needed to be successful with the Winston-Salem Dash or any other professional team.
