Professional Writing Tutors for the Writing and Communication Center assist students in developing their writing and communication skills. Additionally, Professional Writing Tutors facilitate student learning by helping to clarify specific course content and promote the use of appropriate study strategies. Professional tutors enhance the intellectual, professional, and personal lives of students by providing exemplary academic guidance, comprehensive learning support services, and engaging professional development.

Minimum Experience/Education: Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university; Effective interpersonal communication skills; One year of relevant work experience in an academic environment.

Skills, Training, Education: Master’s Degree from accredited university; Certification in Basic Tutoring Skills; Teaching/tutoring experience, particularly in post-secondary courses.
