Job Purpose
Procurement of all company products and services.
Tasks
· Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services.
· Maintain health, safety, quality, and legal aspects of the entire purchasing process.
· Research and evaluate suppliers, based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history.
· Negotiate, administer, and build positive business relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives.
· Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data to ensure competitive pricing and work within budgets to secure cost savings.
· Submit purchase orders, track shipments, physically receive shipments, check deliveries for accuracy and stow deliveries accordingly.
· Formulate policies and procedures for bid proposals and procurement of goods and services.
· Complete data entry to submit purchase orders, check out products, and receive shipments.
· Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.
· Review catalogs, industry periodicals, directories, trade journals, and internet sites and consult with other department personnel to locate necessary goods and services.
· Monitor changes affecting supply and demand, tracking market conditions, price trends, or futures markets.
· Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.

Qualification
Years of Experience: 5 years’ experience in logistics, inventory management, purchasing.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business / procurement OR 5 years’ experience as a manufacturing sales rep from marine related business.
Technology: Inventory Management Software, Electronic Mail, and Microsoft 365 (Primarly Excel)
