Job Summary
The Shuttle Driver provides safe and efficient transportation for guests and employees to various locations around the mountain while answering questions and providing information regarding parking violations. The department maintains all parking facilities and operates out of the Woodshop-Building Maintenance Area in the Maple Parking lot near the Hibernation House.

Job Specifications
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Must be at least 25 years of age per WSI Vehicle Insurance standards.
- Possess a valid Class C CDL with a passenger endorsement.
- Ability to be added to WSI’s vehicle insurance policy.
- Responsible for providing cold weather gear.
- Confident in functioning on snow and ice, including driving and walking.
- Ability to cross-sell other departments and businesses at the resort.
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks and challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Team player attitude; able to work with people of diverse cultures and ethnicities.
- Flexible with schedule changes on short notice as customer demands dictate.
- CPR Certification preferred.
- Knowledge of Whitefish Mountain Resort and surrounding communities preferred.
- Ability to provide accurate information and maintain a good attitude during stressful situations.
- Proficient in verbal and written communication, including radio use.
- Must pass a post-offer drug and alcohol screening as per DOT compliance.
- Required annual review of Motor Vehicle Division Records.
- Required to have a DOT health card on file and renewed upon expiration.
Specific Duties
- Check email and snow reports each morning in preparation for guest inquiries.
- Complete vehicle transportation checklists before using vehicles.
- Assist in snow removal and salt/gravel distribution as needed.
- Transport guests and employees to various locations around the mountain.
- Maintain proper care of the vehicle, including fluid levels, tire pressure, and cleanliness.
- Report vehicle problems or safety concerns in writing to the Vehicle Maintenance Department and/or Supervisor immediately.
- Complete daily vehicle logs, including rider counts and notes to other drivers.
- Train in safety procedures, including operating fire suppression equipment, wearing personal protective equipment, and understanding the lockout/tagout program and Hazardous communications.
- Report unsafe working conditions and/or broken equipment to the Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Assist parking hosts as business levels dictate and may serve as the report-to person for hosts.
- Answer guests’ questions using the WSI Resort Guide and seek additional answers from other departments when needed.
- Ask questions of the supervisor and/or co-workers for clarification of procedures or knowledge.
- Meet company requirements for appearance, attendance, and punctuality.
- Understand and adhere to all aspects of the Employee Handbook and Departmental trainings and guidelines.
Work Environment
- Ability to lift 10 pounds repetitively, 40 pounds occasionally, and up to 50 pounds rarely.
- Ability to perform tasks in small spaces and awkward body postures regularly.
- Ability to work while standing or seated for extended periods, up to 10 hours daily.
- Clear vehicle and guest shuttle of overnight snow and ice accumulations by shoveling, sweeping, or scraping as necessary.
- Check vehicle for fluid levels and tire pressure.
- Ability to work under varying weather conditions, often extreme.
- Confident in operating a guest shuttle trailer or 20-passenger bus daily.
- Job requires working weekends, holidays, evenings, and overtime during peak demand times.
- Flexible with schedule changes on short notice as customer demands dictate.
