Winterwood, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Associate to join our dynamic Accounting team. This newly created role plays a key part in supporting our financial operations and ensuring accuracy in receivables.
The Accounts Receivable Associate will be responsible for preparing and processing bank deposits, creating journal entries, and serving as the primary point of contact for all receivables-related inquiries.
We’re looking for candidates with strong customer service experience and a solid background in administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, the ability to multitask effectively, keen attention to detail, and strong problem-solving capabilities.
While prior experience in accounting or accounts receivable is preferred, it is not required.
Position Details:
- Job Type: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
- Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Compensation: $22.00-25.00 per hour depending on experience
Essential Functions:
- Creates journal entries for all deposits made
- Processes and enters all monies received for bank deposit and ledger posting
- Coordinates and orders check scanner systems for properties
- Completes online banking transfers
- Processes NSF checks and reviews resident account issues
- Send out bank notices for tenant/property payment issues
- Process online payments
- Set up new bank accounts in cash management
- Deposits all extraneous monies from vendor refunds to the appropriate operating account
- Assist in AR projects as needed
- Work closely with AP and accountants
- Process section 8 paperwork, updates, new properties
- Assist managers with tenant ledger issues
- Serve as a backup to AR manager in absence
Qualifications:
- Accounting or AR experience is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of payment practices, rules, and regulations related to affordable housing programs preferred.
- Proficiency with accounting software and office systems.
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to multi-task, effectively prioritize and manage different priorities by certain deadlines.
- Must show attention to detail and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check, and credit check.
