FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 6:30 am - 5:00 pm; potential for overtime on Fridays if required
Pay Range: $24.11/hour - $36.17/hour
Within this range, pay offered will be based on the candidate’s skills, experience, education, and other qualifications.

Position Summary:
The Inspector works from Engineering drawings, work instructions or other established specifications to determine acceptance or rejection of the articles inspected. Reports inspection results and facilitates the disposition of nonconforming articles.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performs inspections of new and in-process parts and products.
- Performs in-process inspections. Selects jobs by schedule priority and assesses parts against design data, job traveler data, and samples.
- Performs receiving inspections. Selects vendor supplied materials by priority and assess parts/materials against design data.
- Performs first article inspections.
- Performs inspections of items non-conformed from inventory.
- Performs inspections of customer returns.

Prepares required documentation and reporting to meet quality system and regulatory requirements.
- Document inspection results in appropriate Wipaire software transactions, vendor inspection reports, and first article reports.
- Properly file inspection reports and certificates of conformance.
- Mark parts with required information.
- Facilitates the disposition of nonconforming articles when failing any parts or materials during the inspection process.
- Initiates corrective actions to quality problems through changes in job travelers and with Engineering Change Requests.
- Supports Manufacturing and Purchasing departments in the resolution of quality problems.
Experience and Skills:
Education, Experience and Credentials
- Two to three years’ in a metal fabrication environment.
- Two-year technical degree preferred.
- Experience in metrology a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Able to read drawings and other design data to determine key requirements for articles to be inspected.
- Able to read measuring instruments used in part inspections.
- Able to understand how an integrated ERP system works and how inspection transactions affect other elements of the organization and overall process.
- Able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Able to demonstrate detail orientation for reading of engineering drawings and requirements on prints.
- Able to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage own work in a fast-paced environment. Able to work unsupervised and solve problems effectively and creatively.
- Able to display high levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external to the organization.
- Understand and maintain confidential nature of customer, organization and employee information, including and in accordance to HIPAA regulations.
- Show professional knowledge, proficiency and initiative in achieving goals and meeting standards.
- Perform occasional lifting of supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Hear, speak and effectively verbally communicate in the English language, including following oral and written instructions, in order to communicate with people inside and outside the organization.
- Stand, squat, reach, kneel, bend, and twist/turn for extended periods of time and perform long hours of work in the shop and hangar, inspecting parts and aircraft.
- Apply manual dexterity and visual acuity for computer keyboarding and office equipment use and to review detailed reports and information.
- Move around the shop and office area repeatedly throughout the day.
