The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of all production and facility equipment. This role oversees the maintenance team, preventive maintenance programs, tooling and tool crib management, and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in industrial machinery, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a proactive maintenance culture.

Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Uptime & Reliability:
- Ensure all production and facility equipment operates at peak performance with minimal downtime.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to enhance equipment lifespan and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and automation issues to maintain production flow.
Preventive Maintenance Planning & Execution:
- Establish and oversee a structured preventive maintenance schedule for all critical equipment.
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to proactively identify and address potential failures.
- Ensure compliance with safety and maintenance standards, including OSHA and industry best practices.
Management & Development of Maintenance Personnel:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 6 to 10 maintenance associates and a Supervisor, ensuring skill development and high performance.
- Train and develop maintenance personnel on troubleshooting techniques, equipment maintenance, and safety procedures.
- Foster a team-oriented culture that encourages innovation, accountability, and problem-solving.
Tooling & Tool Crib Maintenance and Control:
- Maintain and oversee the tool crib, ensuring proper storage, tracking, and availability of tools and equipment.
- Implement and maintain tooling maintenance programs to extend tool life and prevent unexpected failures.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve tool performance and optimize processes.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
- Work closely with Process Engineers and Production Management to align maintenance activities with operational goals.
- Support Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean Manufacturing initiatives, identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Participate in capital improvement projects, recommending and implementing new technologies and equipment enhancements.
Key Competencies & Experience Desired:
- Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with:
1. Hydraulic Press Brakes
2. Fiber Optic Laser Cutting Machines
3. Robotic MIG Welding Systems
4. Electrical Troubleshooting (Control Systems, PLCs, Industrial Wiring)
5. Mechanical Troubleshooting (Motors, Bearings, Conveyors, Pneumatics, Hydraulics)
6. Resistance Welding Equipment
- Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing maintenance team in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking maintenance activities and work orders.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and a willingness to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritize multiple tasks.
Interpersonal & Leadership Qualities:
- Proactive and hands-on leadership approach with the ability to motivate and develop a skilled maintenance team.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience working with Process Engineers and Production Management to achieve operational objectives.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage maintenance budgets and resources effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of maintenance management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0 technologies is a plus.
