Assistant Brewer

Position Overview:

The Assistant Brewer and Cellarman at Wisconsin Brewing Company is responsible for supporting all aspects of the brewing and cellar operations. This role requires a commitment to safety, attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a passion for craft brewing. The Assistant Brewer will work closely with the brewing team to ensure smooth operations, maintain cleanliness, and assist in beer production from raw ingredients to packaging. The role involves physically demanding tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.), and working at heights exceeding 30 feet in various environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and wet environments. Additionally, it includes exposure to chemicals used in the CIP process, such as caustics, acids, and bleach.

Responsibilities:

· Assist in daily brewing operations, including grain handling, milling, and mashing.

· Support cellar operations, including fermentation monitoring and control.

· Execute CIP (Clean-in-Place) procedures for brewing vessels and tanks.

· Maintain cold storage organization and inventory management.

· Assist with kegging, bottling, and canning operations.

· Load and unload trucks with brewing materials and finished products.

· Conduct sterile tank cleaning, including ozone sanitation.

· Perform general brewery and equipment maintenance tasks.

· Operate forklifts and scissor lifts safely.

· Occasionally represent Wisconsin Brewing Company at events and festivals.

Knowledge and Skills:

· Basic knowledge of brewing processes and fermentation science.

· Mechanical aptitude with pumps, valves, and hoses.

· Ability to follow strict safety and operational protocols.

· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

· Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.

· Forklift and scissor lift experience preferred.

Education and Training:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous experience in a brewery setting is a plus.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
