About the Role
The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for generating and securing new sales opportunities, maintaining existing accounts, and providing outstanding customer service. This role requires a strong knowledge of building materials, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and secure new sales opportunities through cold calls and lead generation
- Maintain existing accounts by providing prompt and courteous service
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers and contractors
- Assist with product selection and provide recommendations to customers
- Prepare and communicate price quotations, terms of sales, delivery dates, and service obligations to customers
- Resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; 3 years of sales experience in building materials or a related industry preferred
- A working knowledge of building materials industry and products
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
