As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are looking to add a Junior Buyer to our procurement team to support the sourcing and purchasing of materials and components for our production lines.
About the Role :
The Junior Buyer will be responsible for assisting with the procurement of raw materials, components, and supplies necessary to produce cabinetry and casework. This role will support the purchasing team by ensuring that materials are acquired in a timely manner, cost-effectively, and in accordance with company quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to grow and develop in the procurement field.
Responsibilities :
- Assist in sourcing and purchasing materials, including laminate, hardware, finishes, and other production supplies, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain and update supplier records, ensuring accuracy of lead times, pricing, and terms.
- Help manage purchase orders, ensuring accurate and timely order placements based on production schedules and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to resolve any discrepancies related to shipments, quality, or pricing.
- Support inventory management by tracking stock levels and providing procurement data to optimize inventory turns.
- Assist with negotiating prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Analyze market trends and assist in identifying new suppliers or alternatives for key materials.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, production and logistics teams to align procurement activities with production needs and timelines.
- Track and report on purchasing activities, including order status, cost savings, and supplier performance metrics.
- Assist with cost analyses and budgeting for material purchases.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental standards, and industry regulations in all procurement activities.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management preferred, or equivalent experience
