Job Summary
This hands-on position will oversee our maintenance operations and ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment by overseeing building upkeep, coordinating repairs, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role combines managerial oversight with active participation in daily maintenance tasks.
Position Responsibilities
- Respond to and coordinate repairs for emergencies, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
- Oversee and coordinate routing maintenance of all equipment, including machinery, appliances, HVAC, Dust Collection, and other facility systems.
- Oversee landscaping, snow removal, and other exterior maintenance tasks.
- Manage capital projects, such as renovations and upgrades, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs to minimize breakdowns and extend the lifespan of equipment and systems.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Experience with electrical schematics.
- Arrange for upkeep of company facilities, equipment and property.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Perform routine housekeeping activities in the department and ensure adherence to established safety procedures and requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires the ability to operate various tools and equipment to include various hand and power tools, metal fabrication equipment, welding equipment, plumbing equipment, and various measuring equipment
- Requires a broad knowledge of mechanical repair and maintenance as may be acquired in three years formalized program including blueprint reading and interpretation plus up to three years extensive experience.
- Degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years practical experience in facility maintenance or management within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to interact with people at all levels of responsibility.
- Prior supervisory experience with ability to motivate and engage team members.
- Familiarity with safety and environmental compliance regulations.
- Prior experience negotiating and managing contracts with vendors and contractors, ensuring fair pricing and timely performance.
- Self-motivated and attention to detail.
