What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Facilities position at Wisconsin Center District?
Position Overview : Reporting to the Vice President of Facilities, the Director of Facilities manage the day-to-day operations of Engineering, Electrical, Carpentry and Painting departments to ensure a safe environment for the entire WCD campus (Baird Center, Miller High Life Theatre and UWM Panther Arena. Also, along with the VP of Facilities manage capital projects.
Responsibilities :
- Maintain all physical aspects of the venue, including structure, heating and cooling equipment, electric boilers and hot water heaters, BAS (Metasys), kitchen equipment, fire systems, doors and locks, painting, flooring, walls, vertical transportation, and plumbing infrastructure.
- Oversee the use of and full utilization of a CMMS program (24 / 7 software) for work orders and preventive maintenance.
- Establish and execute process to maintain service contracts with service providers.
- Establish and execute process to maintain, repair, organize, and clean all building systems, tools, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, event outlines, and multiple concert / live entertainment set ups to ensure direct reports are performing at the highest level for our clients and guests.
- Be forward thinking, with ability to provide solutions to problems on the fly, and into the future.
- Collaborate with VP of Facilities to prepare and maintain a five-year capital spending plan and assembles and coordinates the annual capital expenditure budget for approval by executive management.
- Manage and work with Chief’s to ensure staffing plans are in place to ensure a superior guest experience for all facility events.
- Oversee and manage department personnel including work allocation, training, promotion, enforcement of internal procedures and policies, problem resolution and job performance reviews.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules, emergency procedures, safety and risk management policies in compliance with all corporate and governmental regulations.
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve operational problems and complaints. Conduct regular staff meetings to discuss procedures, problems, and policy changes.
- Oversee, schedule, and direct the electrical, engineer, carpentry and painting departments to ensure all day-to-day building services needs are being met.
- Be a mentor and team player, leading by example to work well with other departments, clients, vendors, and contractors.
- Manage the hiring, training, engagement, and discipline of full-time and part-time staff.
- Work with the VP of Facilities to create and maintain both capital and operating budgets.
- Active member of the Safety Committee and provide safety coordination for department.
- Continually find ways to be sustainable in energy consumption and budget.
