Wisconsin Center District Job Description – Part Time Setup Crew
Position Overview: Part Time Setup Crew reports to the Director of Setup and are responsible for all event setup and breakdown across all Wisconsin Center District facilities. Setup Crew work under instruction of the 3rd Shift Setup and Cleaning Manager and work under the daily direction of the Set Up Supervisor. Duties may include the setup and break-down of furniture, fixtures and meeting spaces for new and repeating events.
Responsibilities:
- Set-up and take down risers, chairs, tables, hockey boards, dry glass, basketball floor, soccer turf, pipe and drape and other items as needed for meetings and events at Wisconsin Center District
- General maintenance of equipment and fixtures at WCD including, but not limited to: changing light bulbs, oil changes on seasonal small grounds equipment and repairs to collapsible risers
- Works under the instruction of the Director of Setup and work under the daily direction of the Set Up Supervisor
- Quickly and accurately setup any last-minute changes to event floor plans
- Performs routine maintenance assignments
- Maintains all areas of the arena in safe and clean condition
- Attends work on time as scheduled and adheres to attendance policy
- Ensure compliance with WCD uniform and radio policies and local safety codes
- Maintains proper storage, maintenance and cleaning of all facility event equipment
- Must be able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, and late nights, weekends and/or holidays, event by event basis
- Assists guests whenever possible, referring all requests which are beyond the scope of responsibility immediately to Manager of Setup and Cleaning
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by management, to ensure the effective utilization of the company’s resources and to ensure customer satisfaction

- Strong project management and organizational skills in which the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects on time is essential; excellent situational adaptability
- Exceptionally detail-oriented with a keen attention to detail
- Superior communication skills and the ability to convey information in an engaging, positive manner
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to navigate organizations to build relationships and garner support; ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently and efficiently; exercise initiative, resourcefulness, and good judgement
- Ability to work flexible and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends and holidays as event calendar or deadlines dictate
- Ability to read, write, and speak English; perform basic mathematical functions (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
- Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form
Education & Experience:
- Required
o High School diploma or equivalent required
o Valid Wisconsin Identification
- Preferred
o Prior event setup knowledge, skills and abilities
