Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of the Office of Program Services, Division of Adult Institutions, this position provides statewide leadership and direction for educational programming and curriculum development for adult education programs and offender employment. This is accomplished through the development and implementation of programs at the state, institution and local community levels in cooperation with the Department of Public Instruction and the Wisconsin Technical College System. This position also has responsibility for education program analysis, program and staff evaluation, staff development and training and oversees the development of new educational programs.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule/range 81-02 with an annual salary of $79,000 - $105,726 plus excellent benefits. An add-on amount may be available based on credits earned from an accredited technical college, college or university over and above those needed for basic certification. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes. A 2-year Career Executive trial period is required.

- A Bachelor’s degree in an educational related program (e.g. Teaching, content specialist with teaching minor, Vocational Trade currently offered within DOC, etc.)
- Experience teaching in a classroom or institution of higher education
- Implementing and updating curriculum and/or educational programs
- Auditing and evaluating educational programming for compliance with federal and state law
- Performing supervisory duties (i.e. assigning, evaluating, instructing, directing, motivating, training staff etc.
- Developing and administering policies and procedures for an educational program
- Developing budgets for education and related programming
- Researching and requesting external funding sources such as grants
