Introduction
The Department of Health Services (DHS), Mendota Mental Health Institute (MMHI) is recruiting for a Transportation Inventory Coordinator.
MMHI is located on the north side of Madison and offers a beautiful campus environment, convenient free parking and an onsite workout facility. Position Summary
As the Transportation Inventory Coordinator, you will be responsible for daily stores and warehouse operations. Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing daily inventory, supplies, shipping and receiving for the Central Wisconsin Center (CWC)/Mendota Mental Health institute (MMHI) shared services stores, warehouse and logistics operations.
- Using the STAR inventory module and computer tracking software daily for tasks.
Salary Information
The starting pay is $18.49 per hour, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Inventory Control Coordinator and is in pay schedule and range 03/10.
Job Details
All applicants will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by MMHI or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.
This position has physical requirements which may include but are not limited to lifting up to 50 lbs., lifting, bending, stooping, standing, reaching, twisting, squatting, and kneeling. Applicants will be required to pass a physical evaluation to assess these requirements.
DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.
This position requires the ability to drive a State vehicle. In order to become authorized to drive a State vehicle, you must meet the requirements for the State of Wisconsin Fleet Vehicle policy, which are:
- Must have a valid driver's license;
- Must have minimum of two years licensed driving experience;
- Must be 18 years of age.
Additionally, your driving record MUST NOT reflect any of the following conditions:
- Three or more moving violations and/or at-fault accidents in the past two years;
- Operating While Intoxicated (OWI)/Driving Under the Influence (DUI) citation within the past 12 months;
- Suspension or revocation of driver's license.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
- Experience with warehouse and inventory management (i.e., store, determine, maintain inventory levels, etc.).
- Experience with shipping and receiving.
- Experience using inventory management software.
- Experience using warehouse and inventory handling equipment (i.e., forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
- Experience working in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- Experience working with a variety of customers such as physicians, nurses, therapists, facility and environmental services staff, etc.
- Experience using Oracle based inventory management software.
