The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, a team in the Northwoods League, are looking for an enthusiastic and personable Fan Experience and Guest Relations Intern to join their team for the summer collegiate baseball season. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about sports, event management, and creating memorable experiences for fans. The intern will focus on enhancing the overall fan experience, addressing guest needs, and contributing to a welcoming and engaging environment at the ballpark.

Compensation

  • Stipend: Provided for the entire season (Mid-May through Mid-August).
  • Bonus: Additional bonus awarded for staying through the entire season.
Responsibilities

  • Fan Engagement:

    • Assist in creating and executing fan engagement activities, promotions, and contests during games.
    • Interact with fans to ensure a fun and memorable experience, including welcoming guests, answering questions, and providing directions.
    • Support the mascot and promotional team in entertaining fans throughout the game.
  • Guest Relations:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for guest inquiries, complaints, and concerns, ensuring a positive resolution.
    • Monitor and manage fan feedback, working with the team to improve the overall game-day experience.
    • Coordinate with the security and operations teams to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests.
  • Game Day Operations:

    • Assist in setting up and managing fan areas, including kids' zones, VIP sections, and special event spaces.
    • Help with pre-game and post-game activities, ensuring all fan areas are clean, organized, and ready for guests.
    • Support the coordination of group outings, special events, and other fan-related activities.
  • Administrative Support:

    • Maintain records of fan interactions, feedback, and any issues that arise during games.
    • Assist in preparing reports on fan experience metrics and provide suggestions for improvement.
    • Collaborate with the marketing and promotions team to develop and implement new fan engagement strategies.
  • Other Duties:

    • Participate in community outreach efforts to promote the team and upcoming games.
    • Assist with other game-day duties and team operations as needed.
Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Sports Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A passion for baseball, sports, and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing situations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Previous experience in customer service, event management, or hospitality is a plus but not required.
