POSITION SUMMARY:
The Wisconsin State Fair Park (WSFP) is seeking a skilled and eager-to-learn candidate to fill a full-time, year-round Electronics Technician Assistant role in our Facility Services Department. Under the general supervision of the Master Electrician, this position assists in preparing, maintaining, fixing, and replacing Wisconsin State Fair Park’s (WSFP’s) electrical assets.
EMPLOYMENT TYPE:
This position is an unclassified, Dual-Limited Term Employment (LTE) position within the State of Wisconsin employment system, working an average of 40 hours per week throughout the calendar year. Annual hours worked will not exceed 2,078.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The starting wage for this role will be $18.50 per hour. A comprehensive fringe benefits package, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, and disability insurance is available after a minimum employment period is met. Paid time off for vacation, holidays, etc. is not included as part of the benefits package.:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare and install electrical drops and sound equipment
- Transport electrical supplies
- Assisting with lighting upgrades and maintenance of existing lighting park wide
- Perform routine power checks on lighting and receptacles throughout the fair park
- Transport and maintain portable light towers
- Responsible for repairing damaged cables and plug ends
- Assist with event show layouts throughout the rented buildings WSFP in conjunction with the Master Electrician, Event Manager and event promoter
- Assist with the tear down of sound and electrical equipment
- Perform all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in the use of various types of electrical and sound equipment
- Experience with basic hand tools
- Experience with electrical work orders
- Able to operate lifts and work at heights up to 90 feet
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds with or without accommodation
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs, climb ladders and poles, crawl, stoop, crouch, turn and kneel with or without accommodation
