What are the responsibilities and job description for the Saw Operator/Forklift Operator position at Wisconsin Steel Fabrication LLC?
You will be responsible for operating bandsaws for cutting metal parts for our fabrication process. This may require you to operate the saw for the entire workday, cutting large quantities at a time. You will be expected to retrieve material from the yard, properly identify the correct material needed for the job, load the saw by hand or with an overhead crane, cut accurate lengths and amounts, and stage cut pieces to be moved to the next process. Preferred candidates would also possess some knowledge of steel fabrication and welding processes for down periods of sawing.
- Ability to self-motivate with good time management skills
- Operate a horizontal bandsaw for cutting multiple steel shapes and sizes
- Use a variety of measuring tools accurately for laying out correct length of parts
- Operate heavy machinery including forklifts, telehandlers, skid loaders, etc.
- Possess trailer maneuvering skills
- Operate overhead cranes.
- Strong math and reading skills
- Good communication skills.
- Possessing good safety and cleanliness habits.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a variety of physical positions.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
