Summary:
The maintenance / operator positions primary function is to maintain the equipment, utilities, and overall plant condition. This person will also function as an operator when the need arises and therefore must be knowledgeable of plant processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Electrical installation, operation, and troubleshooting.
· Mechanical installation, operation, and troubleshooting.
· Programming knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot.
· General stainless welding.
· Operation and maintenance of hot water and chilled water systems, HVAC systems, and compressed air systems.
· Ability to operate facility equipment as needed,
· Keep work areas clean and sanitary.
· Understand the importance of good sanitation, personal hygiene, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
· Ensure that all equipment is maintained in a safe manner, so that quality product will be manufactured.
· Comply with all safe quality foods (SQF), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) and allergen awareness standards.
· Accurately Documents maintenance and sanitation of equipment and record all repairs in an organized and timely manner.
· Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· A degree or post-secondary electrical training, 3 years of electrical experience preferred
· A degree, training, or experience with PLC’s
· Experience with mechanical applications and a food-processing environment.
· Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies.
· Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
· Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
· Must be available to work flexible hours and weekends.
· Must be able to verbally communicate, understand and write in the English language.
· Consistent and punctual attendance required.
· Pre-employment drug screening.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift heavy objects, sit, walk, and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor sometimes under adverse conditions
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk and hear.
· The employee is required to walk; use hands and fingers to operate handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
· The employee will be required to operate a computer and keyboard; have visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech; manual dexterity to operate a telephone.
