REQUIREMENTS: 1) High School Diploma or equivalent preferred 2) Three years medical office or hospital setting.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs clerical support services for Billing department, CDI department, admitting department and various clinical department as required to determine the appropriateness of patient charges by reviewing the data in our ADT system. The review include follow-up on inpatient authorization, care advancement, discharges and accommodation codes. Review all efficient use of hospital (VTCLSG) visit type, care level and service group. Review all outpatient observation stays daily and review admissions to SNF of discharge Organizational skills, knowledge and understanding of basic medical terminology and be computer literate. Must have experience depicting analytic problem-solving skills. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.
REPORT RELATIONSHIP: Reports to the Intake Review Supervisor and Director of Patient Access
OSHA TASK CATEGORY THREE: There is no anticipated risk of exposure to mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashed during the performance of the job. Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing a task that is likely to cause exposure.
