Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at a premier addiction treatment facility. The RN will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients in a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment. This is a contract position for a 12-hour night shift, with the primary focus on addiction recovery and management.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care for individuals with addiction issues, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patient vital signs, assess physical and emotional health, and document changes.
- Implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and support during challenging patient behaviors.
- Educate patients and their families about addiction, treatment plans, and recovery.
- Respond to medical emergencies and take appropriate action as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines, including documentation standards.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar field, preferably in addiction or psychiatric nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification is a plus, but training will be provided on-site if needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Compassionate and non-judgmental attitude towards individuals struggling with addiction.
