Full-Time Health Coach & Medical Scribe
Wise Patient Internal Medicine is looking for a dynamic and passionate individual to fill an open position for a Health Coach & Medical Scribe (HCMS) to support a small independent adult primary care clinic in Seattle. The ideal candidate is fascinated by the narrative of human experience, enjoys thinking critically, and wants to be part of a team committed to making a visit to the doctor a motivating and friendly experience. Candidates must also be able to work independently, effectively problem solve, and take initiative in appropriate situations. A compassionate, calm demeanor and a demonstrated interest in patient advocacy are a must.
This position is great for someone who wants to help build a growing practice and gain experience in the medical field. We practice Direct Primary Care, so an interest in innovative healthcare delivery is needed. Comfort and enthusiasm for learning is required. Because the practice is small, the scope of this position will be wide. The HCMS will be responsible for a range of administrative and clinical tasks including phlebotomy. Along with three fellow Health Coaches, the new HCMS will be the right hand of our providers and as a result, will have the opportunity to learn a great deal about disease processes, health maintenance, and healthcare delivery.
This position is full time, 40 hours per week, more often 10 hours per day, 4 days per week. Work hours will be situated between the hours of 8am and 6pm, Monday - Friday so potential applicants must have full availability during these hours.
Base compensation begins at $24 per hour. Benefits begin immediately and will include a 401K with 5% employer contribution, and health insurance for which employer contributes 100% to employee’s medical premiums, 50% to premiums for dependents of employees. Dental insurance is optional with the premium paid by the employee.
REQUIRED:
Education
WA State Medical Assistant Certification
OR
Bachelor’s degree at time of employment AND direct patient care experience in the medical field through employment or volunteering
OR
Certified Emergency Medical Technician AND 1 year of direct patient care experience in
the medical field
Experience
Excellent computer/typing skills
Ability to learn quickly on the job
Demonstrated ability to care for the well-being of all patients
Phlebotomy certification a plus (If hired, phlebotomy training will be provided)
Basic Life Support certification a plus (If hired, certification will be provided)
