Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented TEMPORARY Medical Records Clerk to join our team. The Medical Records Clerk will play a crucial role in our firm by managing and maintaining medical records with accuracy and efficiency. This position requires someone who is diligent, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve, review, and organize medical records from various healthcare providers.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of medical records by verifying patient information, diagnoses, treatments, and other relevant details.
- Create and maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems for medical records.
- Prepare and scan documents into our case management system.
- Assist attorneys and legal assistants with medical record requests and summaries.
- Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of medical records at all times.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, clients, and internal team members regarding medical record requests and updates.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a medical records department, preferably in a law firm or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and documentation.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems, MyChart and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a deadline-driven environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
The work week is Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm (one hour lunch).
