Wiseway/Stearns Supply is seeking a Counter Sales Manager to join our team.

As the Counter Sales Manager at Wiseway Supply, a wholesale distributor of plumbing and electrical products, you will play a crucial role in managing both the front-line sales operations and the overall facility operations. This position requires customer service, sales acumen, and operational management expertise.
The Counter Sales Manager, you will focus on these critical performance objectives:
- Achieve sales, gross profit, and operating income goals assigned to the facility and manage all profit center team members by providing coaching, mentoring, training, and development.
- Ensure the profit center meets or exceeds the customer service expectations.
- Work in lockstep with the General Manager to achieve all objectives.
Key Responsibilities for the manager & his/her staff:
- Customer Service and Sales:
- Greet customers and assist them in finding the products they need.
- Provide product information, pricing, and technical specifications to customers.
- Process customer orders accurately and efficiently using the company?s sales systems.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally and promptly.
- Upsell and cross-sell products to increase sales and meet revenue targets.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels to meet customer demand.
- Oversee daily inventory cycle counts and assist in reconciling discrepancies.
- Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
- Ensure products are correctly labeled, priced, and organized on shelves.
- Facility Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring smooth functioning.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards throughout the facility.
- Manage facility maintenance, repairs, and security.
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Team Leadership:
- Train and develop counter sales staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service skills.
- Train and develop warehouse sales staff on company processes and procedures to ensure excellent customer service.
- Schedule staff shifts and manage attendance to ensure adequate coverage.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Vendor and Customer Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with key customers to understand their needs and improve service delivery.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Implement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry trends, product developments, and competitor activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in sales and customer service, preferably in the electrical industry Strong leadership and managerial skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to handle challenging situations effectively.
