What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Laboratory position at Witham Health Services?
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the laboratory director of operations, plans, organizes, schedules, and directs the work of the core laboratory and blood bank. Provides technical guidance to staff, complete QA functions, provides training and competency for all staff, review results, consult with clients and sales staff and ensure that all regulatory requirements are met. Assists the laboratory director in effectively maximizing employees, equipment, and material utilization within the department while adhering to budget requirements and quality technical standards. Accountable for quantity and quality of specimens handled and test results.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum two (2) years full-time supervisor experience.
- 6 years of clinical laboratory experience.
- Qualifies as general supervisor under current CLIA-88 regulations.
- Must qualify under CFR 493.1411 Standard:Technical consultant qualifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory/medical technology with at least 4 years of high complexity testing.
- Training to include one year in a clinical laboratory training center. CLS (NCA) or eligible, MT (ASCP) or eligible, or equivalent.
