Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive HR Generalist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a variety of essential HR functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, an understanding of employment laws, and the ability to maintain a positive and professional working environment. You'll work in a collaborative environment where every day brings the opportunity to make a direct impact on both the firm's success and the well-being of our employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation, completion, and processing of all necessary termination documentation for employees leaving the organization.
- Handle requests for employment verification, ensuring accurate and timely responses to third parties such as mortgage lenders, background check companies, and government agencies.
- Facilitate and coordinate the new hire orientation and presentations.
- Assist in managing personal relations between employees and management, addressing employee concerns, providing guidance on HR policies, and helping foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with all applicable employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Provide administrative support for a range of HR functions, including benefits administration, leave of absence management, and performance management processes.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in HR or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and employment regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the firm's HRIS and talent management systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Physical Requirements:
- Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
- Stand/Sit – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Walk – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc.
- Use of hands/fingers to handle or feel – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
- Climbs stairs – May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.
- Carry weight/lift - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
