Over the course of 11 weeks, a select group of college and university students will join us, gaining valuable work experiences and insights into our most exciting products. Interns engage with Wizards’ beloved brands, gaining meaningful work experience through day-to-day training, hands-on projects, executive exposure, individual development planning, and mentorship. What you'll Do:
- Shadow editing leads and contribute to editing efforts across a range of sets and products, from early development to final proofreading
- Participate in templating and rules discussions to help craft Magic's future game mechanics
- Partner with and learn from rules management, game design leads, creative leads, and production editors to grow your knowledge pool and sharpen your skills
- Regularly participate in playtests of upcoming Magic sets, giving designers thoughtful and well-reasoned feedback
- Currently enrolled in an accredited, degree-seeking program pursuing a major in English, Communications, or equivalent major with at least one quarter or semester left after August 2025
- Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail
- Passion for learning and mastering extremely complex game rule systems
- Insightful, nuanced, and eloquent written and verbal communication skills
- Deeply collaborative outlook and the confidence and trust to work with others
- Familiarity with Smartsheet, Microsoft Office (esp Word), Adobe Suite (Acrobat, InDesign), Confluence
- Three or more years of experience playing Magic
- Solid understanding of past and present Magic cards and rules, with tournament-level Magic play or Magic judge certification
- Starting Pay Range: $29/hour
- Pay Range End: $31/hour
