We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Industrial Insulator to install, repair, and maintain insulation systems in our industrial facilities.
The Industrial Insulator will be responsible for installing insulation materials to pipes, vessels, and other mechanical systems to help control and maintain temperature.
Familiarity with different types of insulation materials and methods of installation is essential.
Our ideal candidate has extensive experience in industrial insulation, has a keen eye for detail, and is committed to safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Applying insulation on industrial equipment, pipes, ductwork, or other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers, tanks, and vessels, to help control noise and maintain temperatures.
- Selecting appropriate insulation such as fiberglass, foam, or cork, based on the heat retaining or excluding characteristics of the material.
- Using hand or power tools or machines to fabricate, assemble, repair, and install insulation.
- Covering, sealing, or finishing insulated surfaces or access holes with covers of metallic or nonmetallic, canvas strips, sealants, tape, cement or asphalt mastic.
- Determining the amounts and types of insulation needed, and methods of installation, based on factors such as location, surface shape, and equipment use.
- Inspecting and assessing installations and conditions, and adjusting, repairing, or replacing insulation materials to ensure effective insulation.
- Specifically, the insulation will be installed for a melting furnace, homogenizing system and in a cooling water system.
- The iseal mechanic will also have a background in millwright/ mechanic work.
Qualifications
- Proven work experience of at least 3 years as an Industrial Insulator is needed.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of insulation systems in industrial settings.
- Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety regulations and best practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent. A certificate in insulation or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to read metric blueprints and other technical drawings to determine the amount of material to use for insulation purposes.
