What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Auditor 1st Shift position at WKW Automotive?
Assists in making dimensional and/or mechanical inspection and test of assemblies, sub-assemblies, units and components for size, to ensure conformance with quality standards. Assists with devising dimensional gauging set-ups. Inspects and checks instruments, apparatus, machines and equipment following established procedures. Checks layout and processing of critical parts. Assists in determining reasons for defects or malfunctions, effect of deviations on product requirements.
Duties to include but not limited to:
- Assist Quality Manager in maintaining highest quality of all parts and products used in production.
- Perform quality checks when changes are made within production.
- Independently perform first article inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection on parts, gages, check fixtures, and record the results.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation at all times during the inspection and testing process.
- Ability to review parts and make determinations if they are acceptable by meeting the quality standards created.
- Use standard precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, dial indicators, thread gages, plug gages, pin gages, , and other measuring devices, development of part and gage inspection plans and techniques, geometric dimensioning and tolerance, and specifications.
- Conduct visual inspection of gages, check fixtures, measuring equipment and devices for any damage or calibration that maybe needed and report to the CMM technician.
- Communicate nonconformance’s to appropriate personnel.
- Perform other duties as required or directed by supervision.
- Perform quality inspections of finished/parts within the process according to prescribed procedures and sampling criteria.
- Ensure 5-S is adhered to properly, i.e., a place for everything and everything in its place.
- Follow processes and procedures associated with the production/assembly areas.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations
- Tag and isolate defective material. Provide description or justification for defective material.
- Must comply with local and company Safety policies.
- Ability lift /move 50 pounds.
- Distribute results, communicate findings and make corrective actions as directed.
- Enter data into PC to produce quality reports and graphs per instructions.
Technical Skills and Work Experience:
- Prior quality inspection experience in assembly and manufacturing environments
- Must have quality experience in an assembly and manufacturing environment
- Must be able to properly use quality gages
- 1 year of experience in assembly is required
- Good problem solving skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.50 - $16.00 per hour
