About The Implementation Team Territory Manager Role
The Support Operations Territory Manager directs a small team of up to 6 employees specifically organized to launch and support new SES operations or provide backfill where needed. Most often the assigned area covers operating units spread nationally. The Territory Manager within Sustainability Services provides support for all SES operations nationally and works directly with the SES Directors to determine needs and prioritize personnel deployment. The Territory Manager is responsible for the set-up and temporary management of new and existing operating units profit and loss, budgeting, day-to-day operations, ISO programs and service execution; oversight and direct management of personnel, third party sourcing, pricing and business development. The Territory Managers primary objectives are to supervise and coordinate employee work and development activities within the respective sites, accurately analyze and report financials, collect customer payment to ensure successful start-up operations or backfill until the sites have the permanent personnel required to service the project, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Position is remote, but individual must reside in the Indianapolis, IN metro area.

What You'll Do
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
- Expected travel >75%
- Responsible for implementing the foundational aspects of SES operations (financial, safety, ISO, etc.) at new customer locations as well as determining needed support at existing customer locations.
- Responsible for managing all operational aspects of new customer launches, including all temporary and permanent personnel, until the location has all necessary trained headcount to support the operation.
- Accountable for the development and maintenance of a safety conscious organization within all assigned customer sites. Oversees Project Managers development of a safe work environment that complies with all customer/site regulatory requirements related to health, safety and the environment including operating teams safety training related to performance of duties.
- Responsible for the successful management of customer service issues and assisting in identifying potential contract/service enhancements through regular interaction with customers, operating team and vendors. Prepares related quotes and proposals.
- May be responsible for preparing quotes and proposals related to the purchase of entities that extend the service options for Sustainability Services customers.
- Manages the financial and operating performance of assigned customer sites to ensure profitability and operational goals are achieved. Responsible for profit/loss, receivables, pricing, invoicing, budgeting and related accounting activities for customers and all related reporting. Analyzes current and projected financial position of assigned operating units.
- Responsible for the procedural development, implementation and employee adherence to environmental health and safety and ISO program activities and compliance.
- Accountable for the education and development of the Project Managers and operating team. Ensures personnel training has been completed and properly documented and all applicable WM policies, procedures and programs are implemented as required including any required certifications and training.
- Documents best practices and lessons learned and implements at customer locations
- Manages the programs and people who work to reduce waste volumes, increase operational efficiencies, identifies optimal equipment usage and generates an overall cost savings for customers.
- Ensures the local management team at a customer site conducts routine safety meetings and regular safety/regulatory inspections.
- Establishes relationships and oversees management team working closely with local WM Market Areas and Districts (hauling divisions and landfills) to ensure core services are properly maintained and excellent customer service.
- May occasionally be required to perform labor-intensive activities (e.g., drum collection and bulking).

- Direct supervision of approximately 4 to 6 full-time project management level employees, and
- Indirect supervision of approximately 5 to 40 full-time operations (non-management) level employees.

Education and Experience
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Environmental Sciences, Accounting, Business or related field, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.
- Experience: Seven (7) years of relevant work experience in project/business work within the environmental or industrial services industry (in addition to education requirement).
- RCRA and DOT regulatory compliance experience required
- OSHA 24-Hour HAZWOPER Certification required
- TWIC Card strongly preferred, or ability to obtain once hired
- Valid Drivers License
