Job Overview
The Landfill Operations Supervisor II will oversee that day to day landfill operations and landfill staff. They will have oversight of 35-40 Heavy Equipment Operators, Small Equipment Operators, and Laborers. The ideal candidate will have experience leading and supervising a team, and work experience in landfills, mining, quarries, or construction. Experience with heavy equipment needed to provide guidance and training to heavy equipment operators.
Technical Expertise: GPS or survey experience is useful, basic computer skills, knowledge of excel and Outlook, utilization of online applications.
II. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of non-supervisory employees. This includes:
Direct supervision of 35-40 full-time employees, including operators.

Education and Experience
The expected salary range for this position is $72,565 to $92,575 per year. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive pay.

- Supervises landfill staff and reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality, timeliness and ensures quality control in adherence to policies and procedures.
- Coordinates workflow and assignments toward the achievement of operational goals.
- Supervises and monitors daily landfill operations, and reviews and controls implementation of safety regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Coordinates repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
- Collects weekly and/or monthly readings. Creates and submits records and reports.
- Oversees personnel needs of the landfill including coaching, training, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.

- Education: High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
- Experience: 4 years of relevant work experience.
