Job Overview
The Senior Patient Service Representative is responsible for leading daily operations in a medical secretary setting. They serve as a key liaison between practitioners and patients, ensuring seamless delivery of care and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Assist patients with check-in/check-out processes, complete necessary paperwork, and educate patients on post-care instructions and healthcare coverage responsibilities.
- Insurance and Authorizations: Scan medical insurance information, obtain authorizations from carriers, and facilitate referrals to specialists as needed.
- Chart Management: Scan lab reports, consultations, office notes, and messages, and place them in patient charts.
- Inventory and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain inventory of medical supplies, immunizations, and equipment, and perform routine maintenance of medical equipment.
- Communication and Coordination: Assist physicians in obtaining patient results, schedule appointments, and communicate with the Office Manager.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of customer service and/or medical office experience preferred.
- Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- MA or Order entry certificate preferred.
