Senior Patient Service Representative
The Senior Patient Service Representative serves as a liaison between practitioners and patients to coordinate the successful delivery of care and services.
Responsibilities:
- Assists patients in checking in and out, completing necessary paperwork.
- Educates patients on post-care instructions and healthcare coverage responsibilities.
- Scans medical insurance information and obtains authorizations from carriers for medications or referrals as needed.
- Scans lab reports, consultations, office notes, and messages for placement in charts.
- Pulls charts for licensed practitioners or front desk staff as needed and files completed charts.
- Assists physicians in obtaining patient results and scheduling appointments when needed.
- Maintains inventory of medical supplies, immunizations, and equipment.
- Performs routine maintenance of medical equipment.
- Logs samples received with expiration dates, manufacturers, and lot numbers.
- Records distributed samples by patient name, date, and number.
- Checks expiration dates on stored medications/immunizations weekly.
- Records injections and immunizations in medication logs and patient charts.
- Handles questions regarding the office and procedures.
- Reviews correspondence, memoranda, and routine reports.
- Communicates with the Office Manager.
- Oversees the physician's daily schedule.
- Understands and ensures compliance with HIPAA.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum one year of customer service and/or medical office experience preferred.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Licenses/Certifications: MA or Order Entry certificate preferred.
