The Emergency Room Nurse at WMCHealth is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment: Conduct thorough and ongoing holistic nursing assessments, identifying current and potential problems and developing individualized plans of care.
- Patient Care/Discharge Planning: Collaborate with patients, support systems, and healthcare team members to meet present and discharge needs, implementing plans of care and facilitating evaluation and revision as needed.
- Teaching: Provide individualized, ongoing teaching to patients and support systems throughout the continuum of care, utilizing evidence-based practice and critical thinking skills.
- Communication: Demonstrate mutual respect and collaboration when communicating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, utilizing effective communication skills and advocating for patient rights.
- Treatment/Procedures: Perform treatments and procedures in accordance with established policies, procedures, and patient care standards, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare team members.
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, currently licensed in the State of New York, or permittee.
- Minimum of one year Med/Surg experience preferred; minimum of 2 years critical care or emergency room experience preferred.
- Demonstrates sound clinical skills, knowledge of hospital structure, objectives, and standards of practice, and positive communication skills.
