WMH is hiring a Payroll & Benefits Coordinator who's ready to make an impact. This isn't just another back-office role—this is the backbone of our people operations. You'll ensure our team is paid accurately, on time, and has access to the benefits that power their performance and well-being. We're seeking a highly organized, detail-obsessed, and proactive team member to join our corporate team in a critical, specialized role focused solely on the accurate administration of payroll, benefits, and compliance processes.
Your Mission?
To work directly with our CFO, Finance, and Recruiting teams to execute accurate payroll, oversee benefits administration, and provide seamless, consistent support to our employees across 11 branch locations in 6 states. This is a high-impact, niche position built for someone who thrives on precision, understands the complexities of payroll and benefits systems, and upholds integrity and confidentiality above all else. You'll serve as a trusted operational partner to leadership—ensuring that every payroll run, benefit enrollment, and employee inquiry is handled with clarity, compliance, and care.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Execution💰📈
- Manage full-cycle, multi-state payroll on a bi-weekly schedule.
- Process deductions, garnishments, taxes, adjustments, and direct deposits.
- Maintain clean and compliant payroll records.
- Assist with W-2s and year-end processes.
- Oversee benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Support employees during open enrollment and benefit inquiries.
- Perform employee on-boarding.
- Maintain records and ensure vendor communications are seamless.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date benefit records.
- Ensure strict compliance with state/federal payroll & benefits laws.
- Partner cross-functionally with HR/Recruitment, Accounting, and Leadership.
- Handle employee questions with discretion, clarity, and confidence.
- Provide timely reporting to the CFO and leadership team.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Assist employees with payroll and benefits inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist external auditors on the annual 401k audit.
✔ Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
✔ Experience: 3 years of direct payroll and benefits administration experience; multi-state payroll experience preferred.
✔ Customer Focus: Proven ability to deliver outstanding service, build relationships, and communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams with confidence, professionalism, and urgency.
✔ Problem-Solving Mindset: Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess issues, adapt quickly to challenges, and implement effective solutions.
✔ Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
✔ Team Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with technicians, service/parts specialists, sales teams, and leadership to ensure seamless operations.
✔ Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Excel; comfort with technology platforms and data accuracy.
