South Buffalo Charter School is looking for a Human Resources Manager
The Human Resources Manager reports directly to the Superintendent and performs duties not limited to recruiting staff, completing new hire procedures/paperwork, payroll functions, and other administrative duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Representative Duties And Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

- Acts as the point of contact for employee concerns, benefit questions, and foster a positive work environment.
- Responsible for onboarding new hires/as well as termination of employees; HR management system, payroll system, benefits systems, etc.
- Completes semi-monthly payroll preparation and transmittal
- Prepare weekly and month-end payroll entries.
- Responsible for semi-monthly retirement contribution submission, and monthly NYSTRS submission
- Manages FMLA, 403b, NYSTRS, and related files and reporting.
- Maintains employee records, benefits, COBRA, benefits reporting.
- Facilitates background checks, employee fingerprinting, TEACH system, and other compliance tasks.
- Provides vendors with appropriate documentation for life insurance, 403B, and disability benefits claims.
- Responds to Verification of Employment inquiries.
- Implement training programs necessary to be compliant for school and state requirements.
- Remains current on HR policies, contracts, handbook, labor laws and all required regulations.
- Assists in annual audit preparation related to employees and benefit information.
- Cross-trained in the functions of the Business Manager and Accounts Specialist
- Assists with Local, State, and Federal Grants.
- Performs special projects as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or Business Manager
Education, Experience, And Other Qualifications
- College Bachelors Degree
- Minimum of 2-5 years Human Resource and payroll related experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Preferred but not required Professional HR Certification (i.e. SHRM)
- Preferred but not required Notary Public
- Pay range $50,000 to $73,000
