Job Description : Anticipated Vacancy
POSITION : LIBRARY MEDIA SPECIALIST
LOCATION : To be determined
Full-time
Ten Months
Salary : Per Negotiated Agreement
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications :
- Earned Master's Degree in Library Media Specialist (Preferred)
- Current NYS certification as School Library Media Specialist (Required)
- Experience at the school Library Media Specialist level (Strongly Preferred)
- Comprehensive understanding of Common Core Learning Standards and NY state assessments
- The ability and commitment to use technology as an instructional tool
- Uncompromising commitment to continuous improvement
- Broad experience with a variety of instructional techniques
- Ability to differentiate instruction for accelerated and delayed learners
- Evidence of strong classroom management skills with age appropriate experiences
- Flexibility, enthusiasm, creativity, and willingness to develop programs
- Evidence of being a team player
- Ability to facilitate a library and district resources that support the academic programs in the Lockport City School District
- Evidence of the ability to collaborate with faculty to design standards based activities
- Commitment to working with all members of the community to accomplish the goals of the district
