Primary Purpose
Prepare cost estimates for construction project bids, or services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product or service.
Routine Duties
- Takeoff self-performed items.
- Make cold calls to insure proper subcontractor coverage.
- Attend pre-bid conferences.
- Search online for upcoming projects
- Set up and estimate projects using ProEst software.
- Download Prints.
- Prep information and coordinate project turn over meetings.
- Prepare budgets.
- Review and compare scopes.
- Meet with potential customers.
- Review specs, drawings and addendums.
- Set up projects in Building Connected software.
- ProEst software.
- Builders Connected subcontract management software.
- Strong concrete, general contracting and carpentry estimating knowledge.
- Education: AS Technology/Engineering/CAD/Math, related, or equivalent experience
- 3 years commercial self-preform general construction estimating experience
- Extensive math skills
- Blueprint and spec reading
- Strong computer skills
- Good communicator
