What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist position at Wolf Creek Veterinary Hospital?
Overview:
We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join our team. Ideally, this would be someone interested in being cross-trained in both positions and able to help in both areas as needed. We hoping to find someone to work part-time Monday through Wednesday.
Duties:
- Answer phones, make appointments, checking patients in and out, performing transactions
-Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures
- Perform animal handling and restraint with care and compassion
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and treatment areas
- Prepare laboratory samples for testing and assist with diagnostic imaging
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals under anesthesia
- Provide post-operative care and support to recovering animals
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a veterinary setting is required (minimum 1-2 years)
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology
- Ability to handle animals with patience, empathy, and professionalism
- Proficiency in animal restraint techniques
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members
-Experience with EzyVet software a plus!
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
